This is one of the best articles I have ever read regarding transferable skills. Not only do these skills help you successfully accomplish a career change, but it is also important to market yourself on these skills (usually soft skills) if you are seeking a new position in your current line of work. I would only add to make sure you PROVE that these skills actually apply to you during an interview and on your resume by utilizing an example. Otherwise, you are just giving an opinion of yourself. Additionally, by thinking of a brief story or example of when you actually used a specific skill is excellent preparation for Behavioral- Based Interviews. For example, the interviewer might ask “Give me a specific example of when you had to use your communications skills to solve a problem or achieve a goal.”
